CBRE adds experience to its development team

EXPERIENCED development specialist Adrian Willet has joined CBRE as a director in the firm’s development team in Birmingham.

He joins from Savills where he was also a director.

A development specialist, Willet has a wealth of experience advising on land sales and acquisitions as well as residential investment and student housing markets.

He has previously been managing director of G&C Finance plc, the development finance business, development director – Midlands for Crest Nicholson plc and director – residential development for the Midlands at DTZ.

At CBRE Willet will work alongside Eleanor Deeley advising on land acquisitions and disposals, residential investment markets and major mixed-use development schemes across the Midlands region.

Martin Guest, managing director of the Birmingham office of CBRE, said: “The lines between commercial and residential property have become increasingly blurred during the downturn.

“As landlords look to residential use as an alternative for traditional office space, as institutional investors begin to consider the rented sector as a viable opportunity and with mixed-use developments continuing to find favour with planners, it’s fundamental that we are able to offer 360 degree advice to our clients.

“Adrian’s appointment comes at a pivotal time in the evolution of the residential and mixed-use development markets, and we are delighted to welcome such a prominent face to our team.”

Willet said: “CBRE has been steadily enhancing its global and national residential development services over the last couple of years. It’s an exciting time to be joining the firm to spearhead this activity in the West Midlands, as the firm seeks to roll out its offer in the UK regions.”
