Seddon wins Mencap national maintenance contract

MENCAP, the learning disability charity, has appointed Stoke-on-Trent-based Seddon Property Services for a two-year contract to maintain the charity’s properties across England and Wales.

Under the deal, which has a total turnover value of £1m, Seddon will provide planned and responsive maintenance services for the charity’s residential care and supported living properties, as well as other buildings including office accommodation.

The company will provided round-the-clock support with a 24/7 reactive maintenance service and undertake planned and cyclical maintenance work.

Seddon expects to create up to 25 new jobs nationally through the new contract and in the region of a dozen apprenticeships. The negotiated contract includes the option of a three-year extension.

Since 2007 Seddon has worked with Golden Lane Housing, an independent charity established by Mencap to provide supported living housing for people with a learning disability.
