JM Bailey aims to big up Solihull’s retail and leisure offer

THE Solihull Business Improvement District (BID) has called in a local marketing and communications firm to help attract visitors to the town.

JM Bailey Communications was appointed following a competitive tender and developed the ‘Happy Christmases’ campaign as part of its contract to support the BID into 2013 and beyond.

Solihull BID director Shirley Sturzaker said: “We were very impressed with the quality of JM Bailey’s creative work and its strategic thinking, particularly in terms of how it would meet our objective of building a consistent brand for Solihull and increase footfall in Solihull town centre.”

In light of increasing competition from other towns and cities across the West Midlands, the Solihull BID is aiming to broaden Solihull’s appeal as a retail and leisure destination.

JM Bailey Communications is also tasked with developing new initiatives and will be developing a strategy to encourage visitors from outside of the borough to visit Solihull.

The agency will also be responsible for rebranding the Visitsolihull and Solihull BID websites and for enhancing the BID’s social media activities.

Managing director Jeremy Bailey said:  “We are delighted to have won this prestigious contract. The Solihull BID has a unique opportunity to shape and reinforce the awareness of the Solihull brand and are very pleased to be able to play a part.”
