Cathedral Place is just the job for recruitment agencies

REAL Estate Investors has recruited two new tenants to its Cathedral Place offices in Birmingham’s Waterloo Street.

Recruitment agencies Greenwell Gleeson and Key Personnel have taken space in the building.

Financial recruitment consultants Greenwell Gleeson now occupies 2,152 sq ft on the fifth floor.

Key Personnel, formerly based at REI’s 102 Colmore Row premises in the city centre, has opted for 2,281 sq ft on the second floor.

Both are six year terms. Neither deal has a break.

Greenwell Gleeson is the longest established financial recruiter operating in Birmingham and was taken private by an MBO led by managing director Rob Lawton in late 2011. It provides both permanent and interim solutions, across the Midlands, UK and, increasingly, internationally.

Lawton said: “The move has been prompted by the excellent financial performance of the business in 2012 and continued expansion of the recruitment team. 2012 turnover was over 50 per cent up on the previous year.”

Key Personnel celebrated its 30th anniversary last year. It specialises in finding candidates for office personnel and administration roles, from office juniors and secretaries through to senior positions in various professions.

Speaking about the company’s new home, Mary Hendry, managing director of Key Personnel, said: “The building is iconic, and the location fantastic.”

REI is also hopeful of concluding a deal for the first floor of Cathedral Place and is currently in negotiation with a potential tenant.

REI, run by property investor Paul Bassi, acquired Cathedral Place five years ago and has refurbished it.
