Industrial recruiter gap announces record revenues

A RECRUITMENT firm with a strong West Midlands presence is eyeing another year of double-digit growth after posting its highest ever turnover in 2012.
gap personnel, which provides labour for the industrial sector, recorded group revenues of £72m between January and December 2012 – an increase of 19% on the previous 12 months.
The firm has offices in Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Leek, Stoke and Telford.
The figures mark gap’s 15th consecutive year of growth, and puts the group on track to achieve its target of breaking the £105m turnover barrier by 2015.
gap employs 185 members of staff, and places and payrolls 7,000 temporary workers a week.
In 2012 the company provided staffing solutions to nearly 1,200 clients, ranging from start-ups and SMEs to multinational PLCs across several sectors including manufacturing, food and drink, automotive and logistics.
The Birmingham and Wolverhampton branches achieved year-on-year growth of 25% and 243% respectively.
gap founder and CEO Gary Dewhurst said: “The impressive growth figures we have seen are testament to our commitment to innovation, best practice, long-term client retention and investment in staff.
