Mace celebrates as Gateway project moves past the half way mark

THE regional office of consultancy and construction company Mace has marked the half way point on the transformation of the £600m Birmingham Gateway project with a celebration at Birmingham Town Hall.
More than 400 property and construction professionals attended the event, which saw Mace’s newly appointed chief executive Mark Reynolds address the audience with his views on the Midlands property and construction market and Mace’s position within it.
Mace employs more than 150 staff working from its Birmingham office, a number which grew by more than 40 during 2012.
In addition to the flagship Birmingham Gateway project – the regeneration of New Street station and surrounding area – , Mace has been involved in projects working with clients including the NIA and NEC Group, Jaguar Land Rover, Derby City Council, Aston University, the Homes & Communities Agency and Birmingham Airport.
Reynolds, who was promoted to the post of chief executive of in December last year, praised the success of the Birmingham office against a backdrop of national and global success.
He said: “Our growth and reputation in the Midlands is of great importance to us as a company and this is testament to the efforts of Simon Dale and his team here in Birmingham.
“Last year we broke the £1bn turnover barrier and created 450 new jobs, of which over 40 of them were in the Birmingham area.
“We’ve been working with clients in the region for over ten years and are committed, like our partners, to the economic, cultural and social development of the city and wider region.”
