Anslow to lead merged BDO and PKF operation in the region

MARK Anslow, currently office managing partner at BDO in the Midlands, is to head up an enlarged operation locally following the firm’s merger with fellow accountants PKF.

The merger completed yesterday morning. The firm will operate as one, under the BDO brand and as part of BDO’s international network, with revenues of more than $6bn operating in 138 countries.

Anslow, who will head up a workforce of 250 in the area as the firm’s lead partner, said:  “The announcement demonstrates both firms’ on-going commitment to the West Midlands and local businesses across the region.

“The increased depth and breadth of expertise, as well as our even stronger international reach, creates a really exciting opportunity for all staff working in the enlarged business to provide a fantastic level of service to both our clients and the professional community.

“My focus from today is on ensuring a smooth integration of the two firms and the continuing delivery of exceptional service to all our clients.”

BDO has confirmed that the two offices in Birmingham will co-locate by July this year, operating from BDO’s existing office at 125 Colmore Row in Birmingham.  PKF is currently based on Great Charles Street.

The merger also gives BDO critical mass in the East Midlands market via three offices. The 140-strong team will be headed up by Nick Whitaker, with continued support from local partners Rick Wilson (Nottingham), Roger Merchant (Leicester) and Jeff Kirkham (Lincoln).
