Irwin Mitchell advises on Evesham land deal

LAW firm Irwin Mitchell has advised on the sale of a plot of land in Worcestershire which will lead to the development of 56 new homes as well as the creation of new public open space.

Thomas Hall, a partner in Irwin Mitchell’s Real Estate team in Sheffield, advised Hallam Land Management on the sale of the part-brownfield land in Evesham to Bovis Homes.

The housebuilder is planning to create a mixed development of luxury and affordable housing close to the centre of the town, overlooking the River Avon.

Hall acted for Hallam Land Management throughout its work on the site, from initially acquiring the land, through to obtaining planning permission and then the onward sale of the land to Bovis Homes.

Hall said: “We are delighted to have again supported Hallam Land Management in relation to another new housing development.  The provision of additional housing stock will undoubtedly provide a significant boost to the local area in Evesham.

“It is also another sign that, despite the ongoing difficulties in the economic climate, there remains an appetite in the property industry to complete deals and take advantage of quality land when the opportunities arise.”

Bovis Homes were advised on the transaction by its in-house solicitor, Caroline Davies.
