GVA’s Midlands-based head of healthcare steps down

GVA has appointed a new head of its independent health and care team following Andrew Sidwell’s decision to step down from the role.

Sidwell – who is based in the property consultancy’s Birmingham office – established the team in 1993 and has held the post for 20 years. He is stepping aside for health reasons.

The post will be filled by Iain Lock, who joins GVA from his previous role as director of hotels and healthcare at Savills.

Sidwell will, however, remain as a senior director working within the team, helping to ensure a smooth transition.

He said: “We’re delighted to be appointing Iain. His expertise and extensive knowledge of our market will add huge value to our existing offer.”

The independent health and care team provides advice to single asset owner-operated businesses, regional and national companies with larger portfolios and specialist providers, developers and investors.
