Spanish supply deal helps Brown and Holmes tighten grip on clampings market

TOOLS supplier Brown and Holmes (Tamworth) has expanded its range of services after being appointed as the UK and Ireland’s sole distributor by Spanish clamping specialist Fresmak Arnold.

The announcement comes just weeks after the company entered another supply deal with aerospace supplier Roemheld (UK).

The Spanish deal sees Brown and Holmes extend its product offering to include high pressure vices, together with other clamping products.

The partnership is set to open up new business opportunities for both companies in the industrial user and re-seller market.

Compared to standard manual vices, the high pressure products offer safer clamping, minimal wear and longer durability. Unlike their manual counterparts, high pressure vices operate on the base of intense force, resulting in greater stability.

Kevin Ward, managing director at Brown and Holmes, said: “We have been working with Fresmak vices for years and especially their hydraulic range.

“It looks like the market for these types of vices is currently growing as they offer a number of workholding solutions which could be of interest to a variety of potential clients, ranging from technical colleges and universities through to high volume manufacturers.”

Established in 1939, Brown and Holmes serves sectors such as aerospace, automotive, defence, pump and valve and energy. Apart from being the sole UK agent for the FORKHARDT workholding range, Brown and Holmes is also a partner in the Manufacturing Technology Centre.
