GVA appoints new senior surveyor
BIRMINGHAM property consultancy GVA GVA has announced a new appointment and promotion in its property management consultancy team.
Justin Sherratt has joined the firm from Stephens McBride as a senior surveyor.
With over 25 years’ of experience in the Midlands property management sector, Sherratt has worked with clients operating across the commercial, industrial, retail and office sectors.
He will be responsible for the management of some of GVA’s clients’ most high-profile properties, including Fort Dunlop, Belgrade Plaza, Eleven Brindleyplace and Paradise Forum.
Meanwhile, Tori Robins, who joined GVA last year, has been promoted from senior surveyor to principal surveyor.
Over the last year, Robins has overseen The Water’s Edge development at Brindleyplace and helped to secure a number of significant wins for the business, including management of a new office building in London’s America Square and a multi-let office scheme in Epsom.
WSP expands Birmingham office
DESIGN and engineering consultancy WSP Birmingham has made three appointments across various disciplines.
Associate Paul Casola and associate director Simon Statham have been appointed to the development transportation team and associate Ian Dredge to its development and infrastructure team.
Statham WSP from AECOM and has 13 years’ experience in strategic-level transport planning in the UK and Australia, with additional project work in New Zealand and Singapore.
He has recently returned from Australia where he was the transport planning team leader for Queensland. He will be focusing mainly on the public sector, supporting WSP’s local authority clients.
Casola joins from Waterman where he was a project manager for a variety of residential developments and school expansions, and has more than 13 years’ experience in development planning and traffic engineering, with a particular focus on the Midlands region.
He will be working as part of WSP’s development team to assist with developing WSP’s market profile, revenue stream, and business capability in all development markets.
Dredge joins from Taylor Woodrow where he was highways design manager for the NET2 Nottingham Tram Project. He has more than 13 years’ design experience.
DBK strengthens with board and director appointments
DBK has appointed two new members to its seven-strong board.
Toby Welstead joins the Birmingham-based project management and cost consultancy firm as partner. He assumes responsibility for DBK’s established practice in Bournemouth and will contribute to the overall direction of the project management and cost consultancy partnership.
His remit includes expanding the practice portfolio along the south coast with a goal to double business turnover within the next three years.
He joins DBK from London-based Baqus Group and has more than 15 years’ experience of working in the property and construction sector.
Jim Thompson has been appointed finance director for the partnership. Based in Birmingham he joins from Folkes Holdings He will work closely with the DBK team and its clients to ensure all funding stream channels help achieve maximum benefit for all.
Promotions at Cushman & Wakefield
THE Birmingham office of property consultants Cushman & Wakefield has promoted eight of its key staff.
The promotions come on the eve of the company celebrating five years in the city, which saw it open an office with just four staff.
Today Cushman & Wakefield employs 82 staff in Birmingham, including the eight who have been promoted.
Mike Newman, who works in the firm’s accounts department, has been promoted to associate, while Jennifer Longden, who joined the building consultancy team four years ago, has also been promoted to associate.
Marcus Hayes, has been promoted to associate in the offices team while Colin Lawrence-Waterhouse is now also an associate in industrial.
Ed Purcell becomes a senior surveyor in the retail team.
Others promoted include Kristiani Pili and James Drew, both of whom become senior surveyors in the property management team. Also on the way up is is management team support staffer Kavita Modha, who becomes a surveyor.
