Card Factory and Oakam lets keep Cushman & Wakefield busy

CUSHMAN & Wakefield has completed three acquisitions for Card Factory in the West Midlands.

It has taken a 1,500 sq ft unit at Brownhills and similar sized units at Kingstanding and Washwood Heath in Birmingham. Two others deals are in solicitors’ hands.

Card Factory already has 708 UK outlets, including many in the Midlands.

Rob Alston, retail partner at Cushman & Wakefield in Birmingham, said: “Cushman & Wakefield has started to help Card Factory in its acquisition programme in the Midlands.

“They already have branches in many major locations but have started to acquire units in smaller urban locations.”

Cushman & Wakefield is also helping London-based personal loans provider Oakam expand into the Midlands.

The company has 15 branches in Greater London and asked Cushman & Wakefield to help it find sites across the Midlands and in the North West.

Oakam has now opened three new branches in the West Midlands, in Birmingham, Dudley and West Bromwich and another is set to open in Coventry.
Other branches are expected to open in due course.

All of the units are around 1,000 sq ft, with an average rental of £40,000 per annum.
