Rackline appoints new sales director
STORAGE manufacturer Rackline has appointed Simon Duffen as its new sales director.
Duffen, who has worked in sales for more than 30 years in businesses across the UK and Asia, will use his knowledge to help the firm, based in Newcastle-Under-Lyme, to develop the business further.
He said: “My vision for Rackline is to help the business grow and position ourselves as the leading storage manufacturer in the market.
“Rackline is a great company who offer fantastic, innovative products so I am very excited to be joining the team here.”
Rackline’s managing director, Lindsay Khan, said: “Simon has a wealth of experience and knowledge in sales and he will be very beneficial for the business.”
Majorfax expands with new sales engineer and logistics co-ordinator
WALSALL manufacturing firm Majorfax has added to its offering within the castings trade by bringing in a new sales engineer and a new logistics co-ordinator
Majorfax, a specialist suppliers of machined and finished castings, has appointed Craig Loydon as sales engineer with a brief to sustain the existing customer base as well as attracting new clients.
At the top of his agenda is to strengthen the sale of metal castings to rail, agriculture and structural markets.
Loydon previously held the post of quality manager at another West Midlands foundry and brings with him experience of dealing with varied casting requirements.
Meanwhile Sheffield University graduate Alex Smith has joined as logistics co-ordinator.
Loydon said, “I am pleased to be joining Majorfax and to be able to offer my skill set to an already experienced team. I look forward to working at Majorfax in helping to help generate new opportunities and build upon existing relationships.”

New group accountant for Stone firm Global
THE Stone-based Global Group of Companies has appointed Christopher Dryer as its new group accountant to help achieve the company’s rapid growth goals.
Dryer joins from UK Fuels. As an assistant financial controller there he worked on the southern and Northern Ireland branches. He was in charge of a team of seven which managed the audit process of 15 companies with a combined turnover of £260m.
Amongst his key tasks in his new position will be working with Global Heat Transfer Global Heat Transfer, one of the Global Group companies, which has seen growth of 66% in the last year. The business is a thermal fluid specialist, providing heat transfer engineering assistance and thermal fluid supplies.
Dryer said: “I am planning to use my experience and the excellent training I have already received from Global to streamline costs, increase profitability and explore new areas of business development.”
