Euro Car Parts takes a 258,000 sq ft facility in Tamworth

AUTOMOTIVE parts distributor Euro Car Parts has leased a 258,000 sq ft facility in Tamworth from big sheds developer Prologis.
It plans to use the building – at Prologis Tamworth 594 – as a distribution centre.
No rental terms have been announced for the deal.
Euro Car Parts is a distributor of parts for all makes of cars and light commercial vehicles. Working directly with the motor trade and national organisations such as the RAC, Euro Car Parts also has a rapidly developing retail operation.
Its new facility is close to the company’s existing national distribution centre. The company says it will provide a strategically located facility to accommodate its continuing expansion.
Sukhpal Singh Ahluwalia, managing director of Euro Car Parts, said: “Our branch delivery service covers 98% of the UK population and this additional distribution centre will help us to ensure that we have the necessary capacity to meet our customers’ requirements.
“Prologis has worked closely with us to develop an effective property solution that meets our exact requirements and timescale.”
When Prologis acquired the Tamworth 594 building earlier this year, it divided the building into two sections. The first unit, comprising 336,000 sq ft, was let to Hermes Parcelnet. Following the lease agreement with Euro Car Parts, the building is now fully let.
Andrew Griffiths, managing director of Prologis UK, said: “We are delighted that our recent acquisition of Prologis Tamworth 594 meant that we were able to meet Euro Car Parts’ requirements.
“There is a consistent level of demand for logistics space in the West Midlands and an increasing number of companies – like Euro Car Parts – need high quality space to meet urgent deadlines.”
North Rae Sanders and Dowley Turner Real Estate acted for Prologis. CBRE acted for Euro Car Parts.
