Engineering consultancy Cundall Johnston relocates to Colmore Business District

ENGINEERING consultancy Cundall Johnston and Partners has relocated to Cathedral Court on Birmingham’s Colmore Row.

The firm has taken 7,000 sq ft of Grade A space on the fourth floor of Cathedral Court – located at 15 Colmore Row – on a ten year lease term.

It has moved into the Colmore Business District (CBD) from St Paul’s Square in the Jewellery Quarter.

Robert van Zyl, partner at Cundall, said: “This is an exciting time for Cundall; with sustained growth throughout the recession we are now able to look forward to the next stage of our development.”

DTZ acted on behalf of the landlord, Hortons’ Estate whilst GVA represented Cundall.

Cathedral Court underwent a Grade A refurbishment in 2010 and provides 28,399 sq ft of office space over four floors. The ground and fifth floors are occupied by Barclays Bank.

Richard Norgrove, property director at Hortons’ Estate, said: “Hortons have invested in the building, upgrading the common areas and the M and E. Further improvements are planned to the reception and to the main entrance over the next 12 months.”

David Rigby, associate director in DTZ’s office agency team, said: “Despite difficult market conditions, Cathedral Court has proved a popular choice for high profile occupiers seeking well located space within the CBD with RLB and Dains LLP also having taken space.”
