Construction vehicle manufacturer Terex expands in Coventry

SPECIALIST vehicle manufacturer Terex Construction is to create 50 new jobs at its base in Coventry to help meet demand for its products.

The company, based at Prologis Park, manufactures a wide-range of vehicles for the construction sector such as dump trucks.

It is expanding its 500-strong team to maximise production capacity and meet rising demand for its range of specialist machines.

Alongside the increase in staffing numbers, Terex is also planning to invest in its production facilities. The move is part of continued efforts to increase its diverse product portfolio and grow markets both in the UK and abroad.

Neal Nowick, General Manager, Terex Coventry, said: “We’re delighted to announce such exciting news, both for the local economy and for the Terex group.

“With strong economic recovery and a number of new product lines, we’ve seen sales rise dramatically over the past 12 months. As such, we made the decision to expand both our site and team, which will not only help to increase production capacity in line with rising global demand, but also ensure machinery production remains firmly in the UK.

“As a company, we’re committed to manufacturing world-class products and developing a wide range of construction solutions to meet real-world requirements. Over the next few years, we intend launch a number of new and improved construction vehicles to the global market, delivering exceptional solutions designed specifically with the user in mind.”
