Hi Logistics launches first UK distribution facility at Ryton

A SPECIALIST logistics subsidiary of LG Electronics has opened its first UK facility at Prologis Park Ryton.  

Hi Logistics is expanding its international logistics business alongside LG Electronics and suggests the new operation has the potential to bring around 80 jobs to the local area.

It is taking a 165,200 sq ft warehouse, which started on site in September 2013. It was designed and constructed by Prologis to meet Hi Logistics’ requirements and has been awarded BREEAM ‘very good’ certification.

Brian Na, president of LG Electronics Europe, said: “We have worked closely with Prologis and the team has worked hard to meet our timetable. This new facility meets all our requirements and we are very pleased that we can start our operations on schedule.

Alan Sarjant, senior vice president at Prologis UK, said: “Prologis has a strong global relationship with Hi Logistics and LG Electronics, so we are delighted to be working together in the UK.”
