Bromsgrove Police Station put on the market

PROPERTY consultancy GJS Dillon has been appointed by West Mercia Police to market Bromsgrove Police Station.
The firm has been awarded sole agency instruction to market the 20,000 sq ft police station which will become surplus to requirements when the new combined fire and police station in Slideslow Drive becomes operational in May.
The Bromsgrove office of GJS Dillon beat off competition from three other property consultancies to land the contract.
The station, which stands on a 0.713 acre site in The Crescent, close to Bromsgrove town centre, is expected to attract a great deal of interest. In particular interest is expected to be strong from national residential and retirement sector developers as well as a range of potential local occupiers.
The building is originally Victorian, with substantial modern extensions, and a large car park at the rear.
John Dillon, partner at GJS Dillon said: “This is well located site, next to a modern residential development and high quality refurbished offices, and close to the town centre.
“We expect interest from parties who will look to completely redevelop the site, as well as from those interested in refurbishing and re-using some or all of the existing buildings.
“We will work closely with West Mercia Police estates team and the planning department at Bromsgrove District Council to ensure the best solution for this high profile site.
“As a local business it is particularly exciting to be marketing this site, which will focus once again the attention of a number of high profile developers and investors on Bromsgrove.”
