New retail asset manager for LCP
KINGSWINFORD-based London & Cambridge Properties (LCP) has strengthened its retail team with the appointment of a new retail asset manager.
Matthew Pegg joins LCP from property consultancy Harris Lamb, where he specialised in retail.
Pegg has eight years’ experience in the commercial property sector and successfully secured a number of key corporate national clients for Harris Lamb
He said: “As a direct property owner, LCP will afford me plenty of opportunities to apply my existing knowledge and develop my asset management skills in a company that has clear ambitions for its future growth.”

Wates Living man on board at Argonaut
ARGONAUT, a not for profit social enterprise that seeks to help deaf and disabled people living in the West Midlands into employment, has announced the appointment of Driscoll of Wates Living Space as aexecutive director,
A provider of a range of facilities management services, Argonaut offers training and employment opportunities to deaf and disabled people to encourage increased self-esteem and economic independence.
In his role as business development director for affordable housing contractor, Wates Living Space, O’Driscoll became acquainted with Argonaut’s work when the company was employed through Wates’ commitment to employ social enterprises on its projects.
He will now use his expertise to help expand upon Argonaut’s successes, working to attract deaf and disabled people into the construction industry and support them in their working lives.
WSP on a roll as it attracts talent from Down Under
BIRMINGHAM consultancy WSP has appointed an associate director to head up land restoration and ground engineering within the firm’s environmental team.
Chris Roll has returned from Sydney, Australia where he has been working for three years providing geological engineering in the urban development and infrastructure sectors.
Working on a variety of high-profile projects, including huge open-cast coal mines in the Hunter Valley, upgrades to the Pacific Highway motorway and major road and rail tunnels deep beneath Sydney’s congested streets, Roll brings 18 years’ experience to the role.
He said: “It was great to gain an insight of the market and way of working in Australia, but it’s good to return to the West Midlands, where I was based for a number of years.
“It’s a really exciting time to be back too; business sentiment is rising and major projects are being delivered, with WSP at the fore of many of these.”
Roll joins two other new starters: Adam Parry, an engineer within the infrastructure business and graduate engineer Claudia Crusat Martorell, who joins the development team.
GBR Phoenix Beard bolsters asset management team
GBR Phoenix Beard has recruited three new people to its asset management team following an expansion in client instructions.
The additions come on the back of the Birmingham property consultancy firm having secured long-term reappointments to management contracts for two of the UK’s top ten ranked fund mandates in April 2014.
Australian native Ben Crough joins as an associate director, having relocated to the UK owing to family commitments. He previously worked for Asciano, a top 50 Australian Stock Exchange (‘ASX’) company where he was responsible for the Pacific National Rail property portfolio.
Rakesh Joshi is GBR Phoenix Beard’s latest graduate surveyor recruit, bringing significant experience of working for Land Registry, while Chris Thompson has been appointed as a property administrator, having previously worked for iSoft in a financial analyst role.
