50 jobs at risk as Dudley building firm collapses

DUDLEY building contractor R Bennett & Co has gone into administration, according to reports.

The Construction Enquirer  news site is reporting that the business – which employs 50 and turns over £7m a year – has called in Harrisons Business Recovery & Insolvency.

The building and joinery business was founded by Bob Bennett 69 years ago and has been run by four generations of the family.

Bennett mainly works with the brewing and pub sector with clients including local businesses Marston’s, Mitchells & Butlers and Enterprise Inns.

It also carries out business maintenance work for local authorities.
