Growth for JW Hinks
EDGBASTON-based chartered accountancy firm JW Hinks has taken on five new members of staff as it looks to expand and improve its range of services.
Joining the firm are tax advisors Lisa Boylan, Rebecca Wooldridge and Tina Yates, payroll administrator Jenny Lai and trainee accountant Bethany Davis.
Ms Boylan, 35, joins the firm after 14 years at Lloyds TSB Private Banking where she started her career as a tax advisor. Experienced in tax and payroll, she works with a variety of clients, including individuals and businesses.
Ms Wooldridge, 33, has joined the firm from Wolverhampton-based Muras Baker Jones. A qualified Chartered Accountant through the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), her expertise includes accounts and taxation advice for clients including owner-managed businesses, directors, partnerships and farming businesses.
Ms Yates, has a 30 year career in accountancy having started in the profession in 1984. She moved to tax work in 1989, joining the Association of Taxation Technicians in 1991. She is a specialist in personal tax, and works with individuals, partnerships and sole traders.
Sage Payroll qualified Ms Lai, 26, joins JW Hinks from a mid-tier accountancy firm in the West Midlands where she worked as a payroll administrator.
As well as being experienced in payroll, she is also an expert in the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), and works with clients including nurseries, builders, dentists, doctors, restaurants and pubs, fast food takeaways, and recruitment agencies.
Trainee Ms Davis, 24, joins the firm after working as a finance assistant at a local firm of solicitors. She graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2011 with a degree in accounting and finance and is currently studying for her ACA qualification from the ICAEW.

Eurochange expands with new Birmingham branch
ONE of Britain’s largest foreign exchange providers has created five new jobs with the opening of a new branch in Birmingham.
Eurochange, which provides a comprehensive range of travel currencies to individuals and businesses, has made the move as part of a UK expansion.
The Union Street branch brings to three the firm’s presence in the city, following the earlier openings of branches in the Bullring and Paradise Forum.
Eurochange handles over one and a half million customer transactions each year and the expansion follows a successful trading year last year.
Giles Custerson, managing director of Eurochange, said: “We are a growing company and the opening of new branches such as our latest offering in Union Street highlights the public’s desire for a quick, reliable and efficient travel money service, whether as holidaymakers or business travellers.”
New BDM for Nicklin
NICKLIN has appointed Stacey Bevan, left, as its new marketing and business development manager.
After achieving a first class degree in Marketing Management from Birmingham University, Ms Bevan will now help develop Nicklin’s client base; particularly in the Worcester area.
She said: “It is my aim for Nicklin to play a vital role in Worcester’s thriving business community. We offer a complete range of services you would normally only expect to receive from larger national firms. (It) has resulted in us winning awards such as the prestigious West Midlands Accountancy Firm of the Year 2013 for firms with more than five partners.”
