CBRE takes up residence at 55 Temple Row

PROPERTY consultancy CBRE has moved into its new Birmingham HQ at 55 Temple Row.
It is now occupying 13,500 sq ft on the ground and first floors of Hermes Real Estate’s locally listed building.
The firm has a 15-year lease at a rent of £22 per sq ft.
Hermes Real Estate has invested £1m in upgrading the premises and CBRE’s building consultancy team project managed the makeover.
55 Temple Row is on a raised podium fronting St Philip’s Cathedral Square. Originally occupied by the Bank of England, latterly it has been home to the Bank of Scotland and Lloyds Bank.
The building was designed by Fitzroy Robinson & Partners. It features Portland stone and copper clad beams and was built between 1969 and 1972.
CBRE has moved from offices in nearby Cornwall Street in a building it shared with accountancy and advisory firm PwC.
Ashley Hancox, a senior director in CBRE’s office agency team, said: “It’s great to have our own front door in this much sought after location in the central business district.
“The new office provides CBRE employees and clients with modern office space and facilities and supports our plans for growth.
“The move has given us the opportunity to introduce agile working practices, a paperless system and upgraded amenities. There are showers and lockers for those cycling or running to work, and for clients we have enhanced meeting facilities, free wi-fi and a coffee bar with views of the cathedral.”
