Emmerson Press invests £250,000 following record August

A WEST Midlands printing firm has invested more than £250,000 to keep pace with its expansion.

Emmerson Press, based in Kenilworth, has installed a range of new equipment after winning a string of commissions in the past 12 months.

The firm, which produces brochures for national retail brands and academic institutions as well as general printing work, has invested in a new digital printer, a plate-maker, a laminating unit and a new management information system.

The investment comes as the firm, which was founded 33 years ago, has achieved a record August.

Nick Fincher, business development director at Emmerson, said the growth had been secured by new contract wins as well as expanding work with existing clients.

“The company has always had a progressive view when it comes into investment, and is continually looking to upgrade and add to its capabilities,” he said.

“That was true during the downturn, and that approach has seen us grow at very encouraging rate as the economy has improved.

“We tend to produce high-end work across several sectors and certainly our retail volumes have increased in recent months and we are working extensively in the health and fitness sector. That work has come from across the UK and Ireland.

“We are seeing work increase and partly that is down the recovering economy especially in retail and property, but our investment strategy means we are well placed to meet that demand to keep growing.”

The investment has seen the company double its digital printing capacity with accounts for 10% of the company’s work.
