CBD in property sector push as it launches new forum

CENTRAL Birmingham business improvement organisation Colmore Business District (CBD) is to establish a property forum to maximise opportunities within the BID area.
It revealed at the CBD Annual Meeting that it plans to work with property agents and owners to develop a forum starting in the New Year.
The forum will be chaired by Ashley Hancox, senior director at CBRE, and, from a CBD perspective will be led by his CBRE colleague Gary Cardin and Rob Valentine of property owner and office space provider Bruntwood.
Also at the meeting, CBD welcomed the good news about Snow Hill Station Phase 1, where £1.4m investment from the BID is bringing in an additional £4.66m through the Government’s Local Growth Fund.
The project will see the delivery of an efficient transport interchange, increased public transport usage and public realm improvements at one of the city’s key railway stations.
Cardin, chair of Colmore Business District, said: “CBD is continuing to invest in major projects to enhance the public realm and improve pedestrian and traffic flow, particularly around Snow Hill station.
“We have proven what can be achieved by working with key stakeholders, which is why we are seeking to bring together property agents and owners at a strategic level.
“Through our ambitious projects we are making a physical difference to the district, but also influencing decisions and being a catalyst for bringing people together.”
