Housing developer plans growth and jobs after funding deal

A FAMILY-RUN property developer based in the Cotswolds is constructing a new housing scheme in Warwickshire after securing an important funding deal.

Henry Jervis & Partners Ltd, established in 1997, designs and builds homes across the South Warwickshire, Gloucestershire and Cotswold regions.

It secured an £850,000 loan from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking to enable it to construct the four-home development on a site in Upper Brailes.

After identifying an old nursery practice on a 21,800 sq ft site on Castle Hill Lane, the business approached Lloyds Bank for the funding to support the purchase. This was granted using the Funding for Lending Scheme (FLS), which offers discounts of 1% to all SMEs in all sectors for the life of their loan.

Following the purchase, the company demolished the existing building and constructed two houses. It is now in the process of building two additional detached properties on the site, each with four bedrooms and three bathrooms.

The business, which employs six people and also sub-contracts a lot of its work, is now planning to take on additional staff in its joinery workshop over the next six months. It is also looking to purchase additional land in order to continue extending its housing portfolio.

Henry Jervis, director at Henry Jervis & Partners, said: “We are constantly on the lookout for investment opportunities, and the funding from Lloyds Bank has enabled us to purchase the site on Castle Hill Lane to develop these stunning family homes and grow our business further.

“The local bank team has been extremely supportive of our plans and now, looking to the future, we plan to purchase two additional sites this year to offer buyers more quality housing choices.”

The business offers additional services such as conversions, refurbishments and alterations, as well as having an in-house joinery service, with a workshop dedicated to producing bespoke windows, doors, stairs and kitchens for its clients.

Matt Ruff, Relationship Manager at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, said: “Henry Jervis & Partners is a well-established business with a bespoke approach to house building, and the acquisition of this site has supported the expansion of the company. The provision of new jobs in the joinery department is great news for the future growth of the business as demand for its related services increases.”
