Logistics firm takes 127,500 sq ft at Minworth to service JLR contract

THIRD party logistics firm Syncreon has leased 127,500 sq ft of space at Prologis Park Midpoint in Minworth.
Solihull-based developer and scheme owner Prologis started construction speculatively on the new distribution centre at the end of January this year and completion is scheduled for September 2015.
The new building, which Syncreon will use to service a contract with Jaguar Land Rover, is located next to the 477,000 sq ft logistics hub that Prologis let to JLR at the end of 2014.
Rob Duncan, vice president of operations at Syncreon, said: “We are delighted to have secured this new facility since it meets our requirements exactly.
“We already work with Prologis in Europe and the Americas, so we are confident that the team will deliver a high quality distribution centre that it will be ready to meet our operational deadline.”
The distribution centre has been designed to achieve a minimum BREEAM 2011 ‘very good’ accreditation and the best EPC rating possible for its size.
Andrew Griffiths, managing director of Prologis UK, said: “Although there is very little industrial and distribution employment land available in the West Midlands, we are working hard to create the best opportunities in the market for our customers.
“For this reason we decided to develop the final unit at Prologis Park Midpoint speculatively and we are pleased that it suits Syncreon’s operations so well.”
Gerald Eve, Savills and JLL acted for Prologis, while Colliers International represented Syncreon.
