Latest project puts Spaciotempo in the fast lane

A STAFFORDSHIRE company is playing a key role in keeping some of the world’s rarest and most expensive cars on the road.

Classic Ferrari specialist GTO Engineering is planning a purpose-built complex as part of a £6m switch to new headquarters.

To bridge the gap until the new facility is ready, Uttoxeter-based Spaciotempo has supplied the firm with a temporary workshop to ensure the company can remain operational during the three-year build programme.

Mark Lyon, founder and managing director of GTO, said business was booming for the firm so it need to be able to service demand and ensure the security of the rare cars.

“We were bursting at the seams at our old headquarters, so the move into new premises is a natural progression for the business,” he said.

“We needed an interim solution quickly and the temporary workshop is ideal.
“It will immediately give us more space and will keep us operational while the proposed building work is carried out.”

The 650m² temporary building on site now will play a key role in Reading-based GTO’s operations until 2018. The building features all the heating, lighting, fixtures and fittings required for the firm’s operation.

Scott Jameson, managing director of Spaciotempo, said he was confident the building would provide the perfect home for GTO’s highly-skilled engineers.

“The company came to us for a timely and cost-effective temporary solution and that’s what we’re all about,” he said.

“No business can afford to stop trading during building work or improvement projects and we’re happy to help out in the mean time. We do quite a lot of work within the motoring trade, from projects like this to fully-fitted car showrooms, because our buildings are so flexible.

“And because there’s no ground work involved in installation, the GTO workshop was erected in double-quick time.”
