Research firm moves to new 27,000 sq ft HQ in Edgbaston

INDEPENDENT research firm, BMG Research has moved into its new offices in Birmingham.
The company, one of the largest independent research agencies in the UK, has relocated to a new 27,000 sq ft headquarters at Beech House, Greenfield Crescent, Edgbaston.
Performing the opening ceremony was retiring Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce chief executive, Jerry Blackett.
BMG Research combines technical knowledge and skills to provide specialist insight for clients across a range of sectors. It has moved from Innovation Birmingham Campus.
Dawn Hands, managing director, said: “The business has been operating for almost 30 years to support its client base, which includes Government, financial, public health, crime and justice, education, housing and transport sectors.
“BMG research engages with hundreds of thousands of businesses and members of the public each year as it gains insight to provide the excellent service clients have come to trust. That level of research required investment into bespoke premises, and this office has been chosen to enable us to continue to deliver that.
“Benefitting from state-of-the-art technology to fulfil the team’s needs, the premises are sited in an excellent, central location and also have the potential to expand as the business does.”
The business also unveiled a sneak preview of a piece of bespoke art that it has commissioned from Stourbridge glass artist Paul Floyd to commemorate the opening, which will be displayed in reception upon completion.
Blackett said the chamber had enjoyed a successful relationship with BMG Research and the opening of the new premises came at an exciting time for the region, as Birmingham looked to join forces with Coventry, Solihull and the Black Country to cement a stronger presence as Greater Birmingham.
“Birmingham enjoyed annual growth of 6% the year before last compared to a 1.6% growth for the UK. As a city, we are way on the up-curve of growth and businesses like BMG Research are going to secure a strong future for the region as a whole. I could not be more thrilled to have been asked to officially open the new headquarters,” he said.
The BMG deal was completed by Philippa Pickavance Real Estate.
Pickavance, who agreed the BMG sale, said: “BMG wanted to own their own building and had looked at a few options in Edgbaston before settling on 1a/1b.
“As a self contained building, but also as part of the Quadrant Court scheme with good parking, it gave them the space they wanted and the ability to fit out to meet their own needs.”
David Dunger at Green & Co represented BMG.
