TOA Taxis pulls in to secure contract with NEC

TOA Taxis has won a contract with the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) as the official taxi service provider for the NEC site.

The new contract comes with four identified ranks within the controlled inner area at the NEC servicing the Atrium, Piazza and Genting Arena, which will be reserved exclusively for TOA Hackney carriages.

A further taxi rank will be identified to service Resorts World Birmingham, the planned leisure and entertainment complex which will be operated by Genting on the NEC site.

TOA Taxis secretary Ravi Johal said: “We are very pleased to have secured this contract and look forward to working in partnership with the NEC and Resorts World Ltd.

“This is part of a growth strategy for TOA Taxis. All of our cabs will carry chip & pin payment terminals to offset the threat from other competitors.

“We look forward to a productive period for all parties and will do everything in our means to maintain this relationship well into the future.’

Gary Masters, NEC security and traffic operations manager said: “Following a joint tender process with the NEC and Resorts World, we’re pleased to confirm that we have selected TOA to be the new preferred supplier for Hackney Carriage services at the NEC site.

“TOA is a well-established Midlands firm with great knowledge of the local area.”
