Barnardo’s opens Shrewsbury shop after support from LCP

CHILDREN’S charity Barnardo’s has opened a new fundraising shop in a Shrewsbury suburb.

The shop at Unit 7, Tilstock Crescent, Sutton Farm, has opened its doors to the public after the charity agreed a 10-year lease with London & Cambridge Properties (LCP) for the 1,100 sq ft property.

It is the fourth store that Barnardo’s has opened in an LCP-managed property this year – with Brierley Hill, Beeston and Macclesfield all opening in the spring.

Matt Pegg, retail asset manager at LCP, said: “Unit 7 is an ideally sized store for Barnardo’s. We’ve been working a lot with the children’s charity this year, looking for suitable premises so that it can increase its fundraising efforts in local communities, and are pleased to have found this property for it.”

Jason Worley, area business manager for Barnardo’s, added: “This is the first retail shop Barnardo’s has opened in Shrewsbury and we are looking forward to working with local people and welcoming customers to help raise much-needed funds to carry out the work we do across the West Midlands and nationwide.”

Other stores in the parade include: The Co-operative, Shrewsbury Fish Bar and Daisy Chain Day Centre.
