Senior appointment for Lodders

LODDERS has appointed Jane Senior as an equity partner and new head of its Dispute Resolution team.

An expert in property dispute resolution, Ms Senior joins Lodders from Wright Hassall in Leamington Spa, where she was a Partner and Head of Property Dispute Resolution for over 15 years.  

Ms Senior has nearly 30 years experience advising companies, partnerships and private individuals including acting for FTSE 100 companies, SMEs and private companies in a range of property litigation issues including those relating to landlord and tenant, rights of way and development agreements.  Since 2011 she has received the highest recognition in the Chambers and Legal 500 directories, which describe her as ‘an expert in her field”.

She is also experienced in acting for both farmers and landowners, for example in relation to Agricultural Holdings Act tenancies and Farm Business Tenancies.

Planning specialist recruited by Lanyon Bowdler

 
David Brammer and Andrew Evans, both Lanyon Bowdler LANYON Bowdler Solicitors has enhanced its planning team with the appointment of a new specialist.

David Brammer (pictured left) brings a wealth of knowledge to the planning department, which has seen a surge in business in recent years.

Brammer is a legal associate of the Royal Town Planning Institute and specialises in planning, environmental and compulsory purchase law. He will represent developers, educational institutions, lenders and individuals in a wide range of development-related issues, including planning enforcement and litigation.

Andrew Evans (pictured right), senior partner at Lanyon Bowdler, said: “Shropshire Council predicts that the county needs 27,000 new homes over the next 10 years, so there will be an increasing demand for legal services over planning issues.

“Having someone of David’s calibre at the head of our team is great news for our clients because he is a highly respected and experienced practitioner in planning law.”

Brammer trained with Telford & Wrekin Borough Council and qualified as a solicitor in 1989. More recently, he was a partner and head of planning and environmental law at SGH Martineau from 2013, before joining Lanyon Bowdler as consultant and head of planning.

Commercial property expert drafted in by Higgs & Sons

Nyree Applegarth and Paul Barker, Dispute Resolution team, Higgs & SonsHIGGS & Sons has appointed a leading commercial property litigation expert as a partner to strengthen its renowned Dispute Resolution team.

Paul Barker (pictured right) joins the Brierley Hill based firm from Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co where he had worked since qualifying in 2003.

Barker studied Law at the University of Birmingham, before completing his training contract at Eversheds in Manchester. After qualifying in 2003, he returned to the Midlands, where he worked for Wragges’ for 13 years, specialising in commercial property litigation, an area in which he has always had a keen interest.

He has a particular interest in the retail sector having worked for some of the UK’s biggest high street names including Waterstones, Poundland and B&Q.
