Wolverhampton outlines proposals for city’s Westside regeneration

WOLVERHAMPTON City Council has unveiled plans for the redevelopment of the city’s Westside.

Proposals were today outlined to delegates attending a conference arranged as part of Wolverhampton Business Week.

The ‘Developers Conference – Investing in the City’, staged at Molineux stadium, focused on some of the key partners helping deliver the regeneration of the city.

The council said Westside represented one of the most significant regeneration opportunities within the city centre and would deliver a major mixed-use development in close proximity to the core retail centre.

The site will officially go to market later next month, as the council seeks to secure a development partner to deliver the scheme.

Accompanying the conference were a series of artist’s impressions giving a flavour of how Westside might look once finished.

Cllr John Reynolds, cabinet member for City Economy, said: “This is another significant step towards the transformation of our city centre.

“We look forward to seeing what proposals are put forward by developers following our extensive marketing later next month.”
