"Centrepiece" of business district’s masterplan comes to market

AN 80,000 sq ft office building which is described as the “centrepiece” of the masterplan for Stoke-on-Trent’s business district has gone out to the market.

The offices team at Bilfinger GVA has been appointed as sole letting agent on No 2 Smithfield. The property forms part of the first phase of a 1.2m sq ft mixed-use Smithfield masterplan for the wider central business district site.

Cllr Jack Brereton, Stoke-on-Trent City Council cabinet member for regeneration, transport and heritage, said: “This is a genuine landmark building within Stoke-on-Trent and forms a centrepiece to our aspirations for the wider Smithfield masterplan, helping us to drive forward the central business district and enhance the city’s commercial offering.”

The development features about 80,000 sq ft of offices over five floors, with open-plan floorplates of 19,175 sq ft.

Andrew Venables, director at Bilfinger GVA, said: “As the highest specification office building currently available in the city, No. 2 Smithfield represents a fantastic opportunity within Stoke-on-Trent’s new central business district.

“No. 2 Smithfield can easily accommodate a range of different occupiers and would perform perfectly as either a headquarters location for a single occupier, or for multiple tenants from approximately 10,000 sq ft upwards.”
