Flood of lettings for Birmingham business park

A BIRMINGHAM business park has attracted a string of new lettings following completion of a major refurbishment programme.
So far this year, new tenants have been arriving Kings Norton Business Centre (KNBC) at the rate of one per month, adding to the 80 occupiers already present at the 60-acre site.
The new arrivals include Seager Bearings, Orwin & Bruce Associates, Edward Thomas Interiors Limited, Rowland Door Systems and Magic Carpets.
Seager is a bearings distributor that has taken on a new 1,246 sq ft unit at Sovereign Road. The firm, which has been in business for 67 years, has a taken a five-year lease and joins other trade occupiers at KNBC’s dedicated Sovereign Road Enterprise Centre, including Screwfix and HSS Hire.
Edward Thomas Interiors is also moving to a new unit in Sovereign Road. It has signed a 10-year lease on 7,982 sq ft.
Orwin & Bruce Associates is to open a 3,000 sq ft music studio in Queen’s Drive – the business was previously located in Selly Oak and found fame after hosting many of Birmingham’s iconic rock groups, including Black Sabbath and Electric Light Orchestra. The firm is also taking a 1,600 sq ft unit in Prince Road, to use as a storage facility.
Rowland Door Systems is taking a 6,757 sq ft unit on a 10-year lease, relocating from Aston. RDS supplies and install industrial doors and loading bay equipment, and its customers include Tesco, Jaguar Land Rover and BMW.
Magic Carpets has taken a 1,600 sq ft unit at 8 Prince Road. The firm is a rug manufacturer and wholesaler, and the new unit will serve trade and public customers, as well as providing space for the firm’s cut and binding services.
Lettings at the estate are being handled by the Birmingham office of Cushman & Wakefield, together with Harris Lamb.

Cushman & Wakefield and Harris Lamb are acting for KNBC landlord Harbert Management Corporation (Europe), while the estate is asset managed by CBRE Asset Management.
