Law firm targets £10m turnover with £1m investment programme

A WEST Midlands law firm has unveiled the first phase of a £1m investment in its future with the official opening of its Wolverhampton office.

Talbots exited the national QualitySolicitors brand in May and has created a fresh corporate identity as it begins a wave of property investments.

More than £1m has been put aside for the rebranding, recruitment and additional properties, with further plans in place to improve offices in strategic locations.

It plans to invest in expanding its residential property, business services, trusts and estates teams.

Talbots chief executive Mary Mocklow said: “Our strategy is to achieve £10m turnover by the end of this year and the decisions we have made in the first half of 2016 means we are in a good position to hit this target.”

Its most recent published accounts, for 2014, showed a pre-tax profit of £1.1m on revenues of £7.1m.

Mrs Mucklow added: “We have used our exit from the QS brand to really put a marker in the sand when it comes to our future direction and we wanted to ensure our clients knew we were committed to the local area and local people.”

Talbots employs 194 staff across seven offices in the Black Country, Staffordshire and Worcestershire.
