Punch invests in Solihull pub upgrade

PUBCO Punch Taverns has invested £620,000 into the refurbishment of one of its pubs in Solihull.
The scheme for the Hobs Meadow pub has helped to create 10 jobs.

The Ulleries Road pub is set to reopen this Friday with a weekend of celebrations.

The refurbishment includes alterations to the pub’s layout creating an open plan feel, full redecoration both inside and out, new furniture, fixtures, fittings and lighting, a feature fireplace to the dining area, new seating and floor and wall coverings.

A separate small function room is also being incorporated to boost scope for private dining and meetings. Toilets are also being updated and a new kitchen installed.

Externally, The Hobs Meadow will have new signage and lighting to improve its appearance and outdoor seating areas to the front and rear, offering customers an al fresco drinking and dining space.

The pub is set to become one of the Staffordshire pubco’s new flagship sites across the UK that will be used as a training centre of excellence for Punch publicans and their teams.

To go with it new look, The Hobs Meadow is also getting a new publican.

Tom Tomlinson-Greenway said: “This is a significant investment by Punch and the design team have come up with a great scheme to turn the pub into the perfect ‘local’.

“The Hobs Meadow has always been a popular venue but I plan to broaden its appeal and turn it into a great ‘all rounder’.”

Once the pub is up and running, the plan is to introduce regular live music nights plus family fun days and community events.
