Arena Central developers seek planning permission for next phase

THE next stage of development at Arena Central is to be progressed after a planning application for the 241,000 sq ft building was submitted.
The developers Arena Central Developments Limited (ACDL) believe that “with the right occupier interest” 3 Arena Central could be delivered by the first quarter of 2019.
HSBC has chosen 2 Arena Central as the headquarters of its new ringfenced banking division and that 210,000 sq ft development is scheduled to reach practical completion next year.
The third building, 1 Arena Central, has secured planning permission and is ready to be delivered once an occupier commits.
Jonathan Wallis, of ACDL and Miller Developments, said: “Our decision to submit these plans for 3 Arena Central demonstrates the confidence that we feel in the occupier market post-Brexit.
“The property sector in the West Midlands is fast-moving, with a sustained focus on the city as a prime business destination and we want to be in a position to offer the best possible commercial opportunities to ensure that the city and wider region remains a viable and attractive proposition, contributing to a truly first-class city centre commercial development.”
3 Arena Central is at the centre of the 9.2 acre site and will open directly onto Bank Court, the site’s main square. The plans for 3 Arena Central include 233,165 sq ft of offices over 14 floors with 3,148 sq ft of ancillary retail and three basement levels of car parking.
