Online giant to create 4,500 temporary jobs

AMAZON is to create 4,500 temporary jobs at its Rugeley site, quadupling the number of people working there in the run-up to Christmas.
The online business is looking for 20,000 people across the UK to deal with the Christmas period.
John Tagawa, Amazon’s vice-president of UK Operations, said: “The thousands of seasonal associates who join us at this time each year play an integral role in helping us deliver an exceptional experience for our customers during the Christmas season.”

The Staffordshire site was built in 2011, initially creating 900 jobs. Two years ago it expanded the site at Towers Business Park which significantly increased its capacity and enabled it to recruit many more people for its seasonal spikes.
