Hill Hofstetter merges with top 50 law firm

LAW firm Hill Hofstetter has merged with European firm Fieldfisher in a deal that is designed to strengthen the group’s presence in the UK.
Fieldfisher, which employs around 1000 people and is a top 50 law firm in the UK, has said it will move into new offices in Birmingham next April.
Chris Hill, founding partner of Hill Hofstetter, said: “We have known and worked with Fieldfisher over many years and the quality of work and vision was a natural fit.  When we decided the next step in our growth was a merger, we only thought of and spoke to one firm.”
Solihull-based Hill Hofstetter is a commercial firm with 19 partners in the West Midlands and London. The firm, which was founded in 2008 after it demerged from Reed Smith, achieved a turnover of more than £6m last year.

Michael Chissick, managing partner of Fieldfisher, added: “Currently over 80% of Hill Hofstetter’s work is generated by companies with European and international headquarters. Its outstanding experience of high level corporate and commercial European work means the team will fit seamlessly into the Fieldfisher brand.
“Expansion throughout Europe remains a key focus for our new strategy, and we look forward to Hill Hofstetter supporting us in our goals, by strengthening our presence in the UK.”
