Technology centre launches with aim to create 140 jobs

FINTECH company Lombard Risk Management has ambitions to create 140 jobs at the technology centre it is launching in Birmingham today.
The stock market-listed company will invest in the next generation of fintech products and is targeting the region’s “rich pool of talented technologists”. Initially it will employ 25 people, and plans to increase to 50 staff the following year and 140 in year three.
The 7,100 sq ft centre is in Alpha Tower, next to the emerging Arena Central development in Birmingham city centre.
Mike Payne, Lombard Risk’s chief technology officer, described the move as “an opportunity to establish a first class development centre using the most up-to-date technologies and methods”.
He said: “Lombard Risk has a long history of developing innovative financial software and the opening of this centre will continue that tradition as we build the next generation of our products.
“Birmingham is a fantastic city with world class universities nearby and a rich pool of talented technologists, it was an obvious place for us to invest in.”
