Arrow in on success at our business women’s lunch

Join us at the Birmingham REP on Tuesday, February 28, for a business women’s lunch with world champion Danielle Brown. Tickets are £40 + VAT, which includes a welcome drink and two-course lunch.

Double Paralympic gold medallist Danielle Brown MBE has proven that setbacks do not have to be a barrier to success. Taking up archery on her fifteenth birthday was the first step on a journey that saw her arrow in on Paralympic glory. Danielle spent her entire international career as world number one, winning gold in two consecutive Paralympic Games and three World Championships.

She also accomplished something that very few disabled athletes manage when she transitioned onto the able-bodied team. 2010 saw her become the first disabled athlete to represent England in an able-bodied discipline at the Commonwealth Games, where she took the gold medal in the team event. Danielle’s proudest achievement is winning the gold medal on home soil in London 2012. Despite facing very heavy expectations, she fought a very exciting competition to take the gold medal on the last arrow.

During her career Danielle invested a lot of her time into researching neuroscience, NLP and performance psychology, discovering that it is an athlete’s mentality that determines who gets to the top and stays there. Danielle is now an accomplished speaker, mentor and coach, using her research and experiences to help others, strive for excellence, develop skills for success and achieve big goals.

Danielle will talk about how women can overcome barriers and achieve success – sharing her research about the specific obstacles that affect women and exploring how people can prevent these from holding them back by using the methodology for success that she developed as an athlete. Danielle will tell her Paralympic story, using anecdotes and examples to explore adjusting expectations, setting big goals, developing a performance mindset and creating a brilliant support network.

A welcome drink will be provided on arrival, followed by a two-course lunch and tea/coffee. A cash bar will be available throughout the event.
