Duo join Gordons

LAW firm Gordons has strengthened its commercial property team with the appointment of solicitors Tom Castle and Kate Johnson.

Mr Castle has moved north after seven years working in London at Nabarro and Herbert Smith, while Ms Johnson has joined following 14 years at Eversheds in Leeds.

Earlier this year, Mr Castle was part of a team advising a sovereign wealth fund on its £460m acquisition of a share of the rental stream from the Crown Estate’s portfolio in Regent Street, London. He has also acted for a range of international developers, investment funds and companies, public and private.

Ms Johnson trained and qualified at Eversheds after graduating from Sheffield University. She has been involved in many significant schemes including working on behalf of Simons Developments over Trinity Walk, Wakefield, and City Walk, Leeds.

She also advised Thornfield Properties on the town centre regeneration at The Rock, Bury, and Muse Developments on their similar scheme in Doncaster’s Civic Quarter.

Barbara Rollin, partner and head of Gordons’ commercial property department, said: “We’re delighted to have secured the services of our two new recruits. Tom has advised clients on a wide range of high profile property acquisitions and disposals, as well as having undertaken all aspects of landlord and tenant work. Kate also has an impressive general commercial property background and is a development specialist, acting mainly for private sector operators.”
