Former National Express chief White joins Vp board

FORMER National Express chief executive Phil White has joined the board of Yorkshire-based equipment rental specialist Vp.

Mr White, who is non-executive chairman of car retailer Lookers as well as Keir Group and UNITE Group, will join Harrogate-based Vp as a non executive director to replace Peter Parkin, who has served on the board since 2000 and will stand down at the next AGM.

Phil White CBE, is a non-executive director at Stagecoach Group and was chief executive of rail and bus group National Express from 1997 to 2006.

A graduate of the University of Leeds, he qualified as a chartered accountant with Deloitte.
