Appointments: Blacks Solicitors; CIM; Vantage

LEEDS-based law firm Blacks Solicitors has announced the appointment of a new HR manager as well as the retention of two more solicitors following qualification.
As part of an ongoing employee development strategy to support the growth of the firm, Blacks has appointed Helen Saunders as HR manager. She joins the team having spent 11 years at Gratterpalm.
Blacks has also successfully retained two of its trainee solicitors as they begin permanent positions within the team. Geoff Cunningham has joined the insolvency team, and Stephanie Round will be the latest addition to the family team. Both solicitors have been with the firm since graduating from law school.

The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) in Mid Yorkshire has appointed Kevin Anderson as chairman.
Anderson, who takes over from Andrew Sherratt, has been a member of CIM for over 18 years, a chartered marketer since 2005 and is currently the global marketing director at The Big Word in Leeds.
He said: “I am delighted to take on the role as chair in one of the largest regions within the CIM at a time where the CIM and the wider marketing industry continues to experience great change, driven through technology. The Mid Yorkshire branch has over 1000 members and I am looking forward to representing the regions’ members and continuing to deliver growth.”

VANTAGE Motor Group has appointed a business centre and business development manager to drive sales in its Toyota dealerships across North Yorkshire.
Ian Johnstone will be responsible for delivering fleet area sales objectives across the three Vantage Toyota dealerships in Knaresborough, Scarborough and York.
Mark Robinson, chief executive of the Vantage Motor Group, said: “We are pleased to welcome Ian to the team and look forward to seeing him further develop our business customer base across North Yorkshire, whilst also upholding our impeccable customer service standards.”
Over the past year Vantage Motor Group’s turnover has grown from £65m to more than £200m and the group has increased its number of sites from seven in Yorkshire and Lancashire to 18 across the north of England and the West Midlands.
