Haulage firm gets a move on with six-figure financing

HAULAGE firm Alphatrans BV has acquired new premises as it moves its activites to the one site in Grimsby.
Alphatrans operates one of the largest specialised fleets available between the UK and mainland Europe. The fleet comprises of nearly 500 trailers and more than 100 tractor units.
The move will see the consolidation of two of the firm’s offices in Hessle and North Killingholme into one operational unit and allow for better service to customers. Alphatrans employs more than 50 people in the UK.
Linda Simpson, senior relationship manager at NatWest supported the move with a six-figure loan to facilitate.
Mike Edwards, director, said: “We are a Dutch company that has been growing steadily in the UK, and have reached a point where we felt we had to put down more permanent roots here”

The firm’s headquarters are located in The Netherlands and a total of 150 people work for Alphatrans across Europe. The company had an annual turnover of €35 million last year.
