Confident entrepreneurs forecasting workforce growth

ENTREPRENEURS across the UK are growing faster than anticipated and are forecasting additional growth over the next 12 months.
According to the EY Global Job Creation Survey 2016, nearly half (48%) of UK entrepreneurs grew their workforce more than expected in the past year – well above the global average of 40%.
Entrepreneurs are planning to build further on this growth too – nearly two-thirds (63%) expect to grow their overall workforce in the next year, at an overall workforce growth rate of +11%.
The report also found that over half (57%) of all UK entrepreneurs class themselves as ‘disruptors’ with 22% falling into the most ‘disruptive’ category – placing the UK ahead of the global figure of 17% for the most disruptive entrepreneurs.
Stuart Watson, Yorkshire and Humber senior partner at EY, said: “Entrepreneurs in Yorkshire are exemplars for this entrepreneurial spirit. Those leading the charge will be showcased at the EY North of England Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards later this month.
“The entrepreneurs being recognised at these awards represent the leading disruptors and innovators, new start-ups and established businesses, large and small enterprises in this region. They are shining examples of the dynamic entrepreneurship that will drive growth in our economy.”
The EY North of England Entrepreneur Of The Year awards will take place on June 21.
