Yorkshire’s Finest Accommodation launched

A GROUP of five star rated guest accommodation properties in Yorkshire have come together to form a consortium aimed at attracting visitors to the region.

Yorkshire’s Finest Accommodation is a group of more than 20 individually run bed and breakfasts and guest houses run by people keen to promote the quality of tourist destinations in Yorkshire and also encourage visitors to increase both the length of their stay and the amount of times they visit the region.

The group is keen for other Yorkshire guest accommodation to join.

Gary Verity, chief executive at Welcome to Yorkshire, the rebranded Yorkshire Tourist Board, said: “Quality is a key driver in making Yorkshire an internationally respected destination. By celebrating and promoting the region’s five star accommodation, Yorkshire’s Finest Accommodation are not only bringing attention to the quality of the partnership’s properties they are also reinforcing positive perceptions of Yorkshire and excellence across the region.”

A spokesman for the consortium said: “Membership is open to all five star rated guest accommodation in Yorkshire.

“We all believe the quality of guest accommodation in Yorkshire is second to none which, coupled with the region’s fabulously diverse offerings, makes Yorkshire a fantastic place to visit.

“We believe the high number of five star guest accommodation properties in the region give Yorkshire a huge advantage as a destination.

“We have the support of Welcome to Yorkshire to advise and inform our initiative which has been very helpful. Yorkshire is a big place and members of Yorkshire’s Finest Accommodation are happy to promote all of the consortium’s properties and be ambassadors for the region to ensure visitors have the best experience as they move around the region.”

The spokesman added that referrals between properties were increasing and that the consortium’s members had seen increased bookings.
