TWO South Yorkshire businesses have taken advantage of competitive rates for smaller units after relocating to a Sheffield industrial estate.

JIC Refractory Products, a ceramic fibre and body soluble modules producer, has relocated its entire business from Sorby Street in Burngreave, and now occupy 3,000 sq ft at the rejuvenated Dore House Industrial Estate, while children’s play centre Forward For Kids has set up a new 5,500 sq ft base.

Commercial property company Canmoor, which specialises in the office and industrial sectors, has undertaken a lease re-gear at Dore House via commercial property specialists Knight Frank, as well as overseeing a refurbishment programme of two units – 19b and 14b offering potential tenants new headquarters measuring 5000 sq ft.

Tim Bottrill, partner at Knight Frank, said: “Market movement has been stimulated by good deals on smaller units which are still available at very attractive rates.

“However, we will start to see that availability diminish as fewer units are on the market. Looking at the recent success of Dore House, and how the market is picking up, our advice for businesses wishing to relocate would be to take advantage of these good deals whilst the smaller units are still available.”

King Sturge Simon CullimoreALL property receiverships in Yorkshire can now be handled by King Sturge’s Leeds office after the qualification of a second Law of Property Act, or fixed-charge, receiver.

King Sturge’s valuations partner, Simon Cullimore, has become a Fellow of the Association of Property and Fixed Charge Receivers (FNARA).

All property receiverships have to be undertaken jointly and Mr Cullimore’s qualification enables him to join King Sturge Leeds office partner-in-charge, Colin Fell, in providing a team approach rather than having to work with receivers from the firm’s other offices.

Mr Fell said: “Simon’s qualification significantly strengthens our services in the North. We are now acting for several banks on appointments including office buildings, development sites, residential investments and leisure properties.”
