Latest appointments: Ferry new FD at DWF; Principles boosts team; Full circle for Bowman Riley architect;

ARTHUR Ferry, chief finance officer of the UK arm at global law firm Baker & McKenzie, is to become the new finance director of DWF which has an office in Leeds.

Mr Ferry, who begins his new role in August, has more than 25 years’ experience in the legal, oil, mining, industrial and utility sectors.

A chartered accountant by profession, he spent the early part of his career with the former accountancy firm Touche Ross & Co in London before moving into industry.

Since then he has been finance director of companies including BP Coal Southern Africa, BP Malaysia, United Utilities International and Eco-Bat Technologies.

Mr Ferry spent three years as finance director of leading City law firm CMS Cameron McKenna before joining Baker & McKenzie in 2007.

Andrew Leaitherland, DWF’s managing partner, said: “Arthur’s extensive experience and his specific knowledge of the legal sector will be invaluable in helping us to achieve our goal of becoming a top 30 law firm.”

PRINCIPLES, the Leeds-based communications group, has announced six new roles across its divisions.

PrinciplesJoining Principles are Nicky Cook, who has been appointed account director, Natasha Robinson, who joins as account executive, Paul Wainwright, who joins as a planner, and Tom Farley, who has been appointed account co-ordinator.

Anthony Kenny joins Fusion Unlimited as an online executive with Kyle Brogan joins the online division as an account executive.

SKIPTON-based Bowman Riley Architects has appointed Michael Feather to associate.

Feather initially started his career with Bowman Riley Architects as a work experience student at 16 and then returned for two years in 2000 before qualifying as an architect. He returned to Yorkshire in 2005.
