Doing the deal in Dubai
A GROUP of Yorkshire businesses have completed a successful trade visit to Dubai.
Ten companies from across the region visited the United Arab Emirates and took part in the 'Big 5' event, which is acknowledged as one of the largest construction exhibitions in the world.
The firms also met with potential customers at pre-arranged meetings, making new contacts and securing orders.
James Willerton, director of Leeds-based Jigsaw Search & Selection, which made made the trip to Dubai, said: "We made the trip to Dubai having already done some business in the region, so that we could better understand local conditions, improve our consultancy service and increase revenue.
"It was a highly instructive visit, where we were able to achieve several new business leads which we are confident will prove profitable in the future."
Having led the businesses on the visit, Leeds Chamber of Commerce's policy director, Ian Williams, said: "Clearly the opportunities for Yorkshire businesses in Dubai are fantastic and for the businesses that participated this was an ideal opportunity to develop valuable business contacts in one of the world's most progressive economies."
